Development Awards

Best Commercial Property

This award recognises and publicly rewards the outstanding development and operation of a commercial property in Western Australia. Eligible entrants will be developments or refurbishments that have been completed in the previous five years, have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020 and have not previously won the Award.

The award is open to members of the Property Council of Australia WA Division only.

 

Best Commercial Fit Out of Single Floor Refurbishment

This award recognises excellence in the refurbished of a single floor of a commercial office space or commercial fit out.

The space must be operating for at least three months as at 31 March 2021.

The award is open to members of the Property Council of Australia WA Division only. Innovation in responses should be clearly expressed.

Best Retail Development (76+ Stores)

This award recognises and publicly rewards the outstanding development and operation of a large retail development (76+ stores) in Western Australia. Eligible entrants will be developments or refurbishments that have been completed in the previous five years, have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020 and have not previously won the Award.

Best Retail Development (75 Stores and Under)

This award recognises and publicly rewards the outstanding development and operation of a small retail development (75 stores or less) in Western Australia. Eligible entrants will be developments or refurbishments that have been completed in the previous five years, have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020 and have not previously won the Award.

Best Retail Fitout/Refurbishment

This award recognises and publicly rewards an outstanding fitout or refurbishment of a single store or small scale refurbishment project within a retail centre in Western Australia.

Eligible entrants will be developments or refurbishments that have been completed in the previous five years, have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020 and have not previously won the Award.

 

Best Master Planned Community

This award is for a master planned community, excluding master planned apartment only communities.

Eligible entrants will be master planned communities that have been completed in the previous three years, have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020 and have not previously won the Award. Also, where the development is multi staged the entrant may nominate a completed stage and will be awarded on the basis of the completed stage only. The entrant may also further stages as they are completed in future awards but will only be recognised for those nominated stages not previous ones.

The award is open to members of the Property Council WA only.

Best Residential Development (4 Stories or Less)

This award recognises the best residential development (4 stories or less), excluding master planned communities.

Eligible entrants are developments or refurbishments that have been completed in the previous three years, have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020 and have not previously won the award.

 

Best Residential Development (5 Stories or More)

This award recognises the best residential development (5 stories or more), excluding master planned communities.

 Eligible entrants are developments or refurbishments that have been completed in the previous three years, have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020 and have not previously won the award.

Where the development is multi-staged the entrant may nominate a completed stage and will be awarded on the basis of the completed stage only. The entrant may also enter further stages as they are completed in future years but will only be recognised for those nominated stages not previous ones.

 

Best Industrial Development

This award recognises and publicly rewards the development of a new or refurbished Industrial development.

Eligible entrants will be developments or refurbishments that have been completed in the previous five years, have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020 and have not previously won the Award.

The award is open to members of the Property Council WA only.  

Best Mixed – Used Development

This award recognises and rewards innovation in a mixed-use development.

For the purpose of the award, a mixed-use development is a development that comprise at least two substantive uses of the following; office, retail, residential, tourism and leisure, community facilities, logistics/warehouse, distribution or high technology. Eligible entrants will be developments or refurbishments that have been completed in the previous five years, have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020.

The award is open to members of the Property Council WA only.

Best Regional Development (Outside Perth and Peel)

This award recognises and publicly rewards the development of a new or refurbished regional development in any asset class. Eligible entrants will be developments or refurbishments that have been completed in the previous five years, have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020 and are outside the boundaries of the Perth and Peel areas.

The award is open to members of the Property Council of WA only.

 

Best Leisure and Tourism Development

This award recognises and publicly rewards the efficient use of capital in a new or refurbished Tourism and/or Leisure development. Tourism and/or Leisure developments or refurbishments may include and are not limited to venues, sites, precincts, community areas, amusement and/or recreation parks that include a major component of food and beverages or entertainment. Eligible entrants are Tourism and/or Leisure developments or refurbishments that have been completed in the previous five years, have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020 and have not previously won the award.

The award is open to members of the Property Council of WA only.

 

Best Sustainable Development

This award recognises and encourages the demonstrated application of sustainability practices that reduce a project’s eco footprint over the entire lifecycle. Eligible entrants are new developments that have been completed in the previous three years and have been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2020 or an existing development which is less than 5 years old (or have been occupied for three years since refurbishment) which have a minimum of 12 months of operating data as at 31 December 2020 to demonstrate performance against criteria. 

The award is open to members of the Property Council WA only and who have not won the award previously.

Innovation and Marketing Awards

Best Community Activation or Community Engagement

This award recognises the best community activation or community engagement campaign.

The activation or community engagement initiative can relate to a program, service and/or other initiative. The initiative must demonstrate broad benefit to the industry and or the community.

 

Best Innovation

This award recognises innovation that creates significant advancement and improvement within the property industry. The innovation can relate to a product, program, service and/or other initiative. The innovation must be replicable and of broad benefit to the industry and or the community.

Best Marketing Campaign

This award recognises a marketing campaign that has excelled in bringing attention to a project, initiative or brand.

The marketing campaign must demonstrate a clear purpose and measurable success against the proposed campaign purpose.

Individual Awards

WA Property Management, Facilities Management, Leasing Agent or Stata Manager of the Year

This award recognises excellence in Property Management, Facilities Management or Leasing, or Strata Management and individual members working in small medium and large agencies.

To apply for this award, you must have live projects in WA and be domiciled in WA.

 

WA Property Leader of the Year

The purpose of this award is to acknowledge, recognise, encourage and, most importantly, promote the positive contribution made to the industry by property professionals.
